Camp Acorn's Winter program is an abridged version of our summer program. It is a three hour social/recreation program where our campers can interact
with their peers and enjoy a variety of activities. Some of the activities include art, sports, cooking fun, karate, performances, and monthly field trips.
Camp Acorn opened its inaugural winter session if the fall of 2001 at a church in northern NJ with 28 campers. This year the winter program will be at its new location; the Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 165 W. Crescent Avenue, Allendale, NJ.Fifty children and young adults now participate in the weekly three-hour social and recreation program.
Our Camper's are divided into five small groups where a group facilitator will oversee the campers and assist the volunteer counselors to ensure that everyone is participating to the best of their ability. Our campers are paired with volunteer counselors for the afternoon to facilitate with the various activities.
This program begins the last Saturday of September through the first Saturday of June. It will be held every Saturday, except holidays, from 1:00-4:00pm.
